Nestled in the heart of the Nescopeck Mountains and two miles off the Conyngham Exit 256 on Interstate 80 is Clare House—a place where you can get away and meet God in the quiet of nature. We invite you to “come away for a while and renew your life and spirit communing with God, Nature and your Inner Self.

A welcoming bungalow located on campus, Clare House comfortably accommodates five people. Complete with a kitchen, dining room, pleasant living room with DVD and VCR capabilities, as well as a library of DVD/VCR selections and Spirituality books, and comfortable bedrooms. Clare House is elegant in its simplicity and a quiet atmosphere that well describes its interior. Quiet and welcoming, it provides a ready space to both relax and listen attentively to the Lord with in one’s heart.

Guests may prepare their own meals in the kitchen or just down the road are Thomas’ Restaurant, “Cookies Luncheon”, Chinese Top, and a mile away is an Italian Restaurant with take outs. Gould’s Supermarket is near by for household and culinary needs. For a nominal fee the main meal can be provided from the friary kitchen either for private dining at Clare House or for a common meal along with fellowship and conversation with friars.

Confession with a friar priest is available. Your presence is warmly welcomed at Divine Liturgy (Mass) as well at Divine Office; Morning and Evening Prayer.

Thirty acres of forest land with a pond and a branch of the Nescopeck River, gaggles of geese, flocks of ducks, and a myriad of other gentle woodland creatures are incentives to leisurely wander to experience firsthand the finger of God at work in nature.

Time seems to stand still at Clare House. And it becomes Sacred Time is a Sacred Space where you can relax, renew, and return to the Heart of the Father and there discover the mystery and beauty that is God’s indwelling Presence in you.
