EVANGELIZATION…A BLUEPRINT !

 “Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful.

  And kindle in them the fire of your love.

  Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created.

  And you will renew the face of the earth. “

With the traditional prayer the day-long Workshop concluded, as twenty-one participants acknowledged the promptings of the Spirit in their lives!  What would be the effects of  their gifts?  Would they depart from Emmaus Hall affirmed and encouraged to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to all whom they meet along the way?   

 Saturday, September 27, 2008, became a day of such promise for an enthusiastic gathering from both Byzantine and Roman parishes.   Fr. Laurian Janicki, OFM along with Barbara Miller directed the participation and conversation that included :

• Defining Evangelization …the Church’s Mission-thus ours!
• The Art of Welcoming-Hospitality!
• The Ways and Means of Invitation to the faith seeker!
• The Embrace of the lost-now returning to Church!
• The Membership Process for the newcomer!
• The Heart of Stewardship!

 After sharing a hearty lunch of home-made soup, sandwiches, and lots of table talk, the facilitators inquired, “How does the Church evangelize itself?” 

 From Scripture Studies to Donut Sundays;  from sharing faith in Small Christian Communities to book Studies;  from Programs and Retreats to help in the Food Pantries…such were the possibilities to be both Echo and Messenger of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
